Roots of Hope is a community based organization located in the heart of Michamvi, Zanzibar, Tanzania. Their mission is to build a holistic education center, offering safe space for children (5-12 year old) for cultural, artistic and physical education. To nurture a dynamic, active, responsible and committed youth in their development process. The vision of the organization is to be a helping tool for the children in Michamvi. They would strive for continued improvement of health, cultural and artistic activities for the children and young youth of Michamvi. They strive to offer holistic education for children and young youth through movement, music, training and courses. They are guided by the values of volunteerism, love for pro-action, for self-betterment, accountability, transparency and empowerment.

Mie is serving a role of their international yoga teacher. She had an inspiring opportunity to teach children yoga and be a part of their opening week & ceremony in August 2021 and continues teaching children and women while she’s in Zanzibar.
